A number of store design concepts were presented to 1000 consumers as part of the study. Heat maps helped researchers to determine the most popular design elements. It may not be a surprise to learn that consumers valued ease of navigation as a priority, as well as an in-store ambience that “conveys cleanliness and quality”.
